Laser Hair Removal has rapidly become the most effective method for treating unwanted or excessive hair.
We use the industry-leading Diode laser system –for permanent hair reduction that works on all hair and skin colours. The built in ICE cold system ensures pain-free, speedy results with little or no regrowth following your course of treatments.
On your initial visit, a thorough medical pre-consultation will be carried out to find out what you would like to achieve. A patch test will also be carried out on the area you require to be treated.
Each laser hair removal session at our clinic is carefully timed and typically lasts between 15 to 60 minutes, depending on the size and complexity of the treatment area. For optimal hair reduction, most clients require a series of 6, 8, 10 sessions, scheduled 4 to 6 weeks apart. This timing is specifically designed to target hair follicles in their active growth phase, maximizing the effectiveness of each treatment.
The laser applicator is placed on the skin and a short pulse of light is released, which targets many follicles simultaneously. The laser produces a ray of high intensity light that gives off heat energy, heating the melanin (the pigment in the hair follicle) and destroying the hair follicle without damaging the surrounding cell, preventing any further hair growth.
The applicator is then moved to the next surrounding area of the skin and the process is repeated until the entire area is covered. For Laser treatments, a thin layer of gel is applied to the skin to help guide the light.
Understanding the hair growth cycle is crucial for optimising laser hair removal results. Hair grows in three main phases:
Anagen (Growth Phase): This is the ideal stage for laser treatment, as the hair is actively growing and fully attached to the follicle. During this phase, the laser energy can effectively target and destroy the hair root, making the treatment most effective.
Catagen (Transition Phase): In this short phase, hair growth stops, and the hair begins to detach from the follicle. Laser treatments during this stage are generally less effective since the hair is no longer actively growing.
Telogen (Resting Phase): During this phase, the hair sheds to make room for new growth. Laser treatment at this stage has minimal impact, as the new hair follicle is not yet fully formed.
Effective laser hair removal sessions are timed to align with these growth cycles, especially the anagen phase, for the best results.
Results vary depending on the part of the body and the skin and hair colour being treated. This treatment can be carried out on Male or Female Caucasian, Asian and Afro-Caribbean skin tones. We recommend a course of 6-10 treatments, a month apart, in order to maximise results.
After laser hair removal, hairs don’t fall out immediately but will gradually shed over a period of days to weeks. This may appear like continued hair growth, but it’s actually the shedding process. Multiple treatments are needed because hair growth and shedding follow a natural cycle, and laser treatment is most effective on follicles in the active growth phase.
Results can vary widely and are not always predictable. Many clients experience significant hair reduction lasting several months, and sometimes even years. However, laser hair removal does not guarantee permanent hair loss. When hair regrows, it’s typically finer and lighter in color.
For ongoing hair reduction, occasional maintenance sessions may be necessary.
While laser hair removal requires minimal downtime, following these aftercare steps helps maintain healthy, moisturised skin and promotes the best results.
By directing concentrated rays of lights into the hair follicle inhibiting the hair’s ability to grow without disrupting or damaging the skin’s surface.
All adults over the age of 18, can be treated. Results vary depending on the part of the body and the skin and hair colour being treated, all our clients benefit from an individually tailored treatment program.
Generally, no, people describe the feeling as a ‘zap’ but due to the cooled head system, there is little or no pain felt.
Hair appears to still be growing but is in fact detached from the follicle, gentle exfoliation removes these, and there is no future hair growth from these follicles* (*apart from clients experiencing hormone conditions)’.
Only hair that is actively growing is affected, therefore a course of treatments is needed depending on the area being treated and until a good result is seen.
We recommend a course of 6-10 treatments, a month apart, in order to maximise results.
Depending on your hair and skin type and the area being treated, you will usually require treatments at 4-6-week intervals. Each part of the body has a different hair growing cycle, so the hair loss will vary depending on what phase your follicles are in at the time of treatment. However, at least 6 treatments are required for a mor permanent result.
Treatments can take as little as 10 minutes and up to 1 hour, depending on the size of the area being treated.
