Nd:YAG Laser Hair Removal for Darker Skin Tones
A few years ago, laser hair removal was not considered a safe or effective option for people with darker skin. That changed with the development of the Nd:YAG laser, which uses a 1064nm wavelength instead of the 755nm Alexandrite wavelength typically used on lighter skin types (1-3 on the Fitzpatrick scale).

Nd:YAG stands for neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet, a crystal used in solid-state lasers.
